Quarterbacks, running backs and wide receivers took the field for day two of athletic testing at the NFL Combine. Kent State all-purpose running back Dri Archer stole the show, recording official 40-yard dash times of 4.28 and 4.26. Archer bettered Marquise Goodwin‘s 4.27 run from a year ago, and was only .02 seconds shy of Chris Johnson‘s record of 4.24 from 2008. Oregon State’s Brandin Cooks led the WR brigade at 4.33, with Logan Thomas spearheading the QB’s at 4.61.

With current NFL standouts pumping up his inevitable 4.2 run, Sammy Watkins disappointed with an official time of 4.43. While I’m not implying his stock should drop as a result, media talking heads offering him up a “pass” is entirely hypocritical. Missouri running back Henry Josey came back from a “one in a million” knee injury in 2011 to post an impressive 4.43.
