The Giants added depth at linebacker with the signing of the well-traveled Terrell Manning. Originally a 5th round pick by Green Bay three years ago, Manning has been waived by the Packers, Chargers and Vikings since August of 2013.

Manning’s 2012 scouting report courtesy of Mackenzie Pantoja of FanSided’s NFL Mocks:

Positives:

+ Production- 193 tackles and 10 sacks in three years at N.C. State
+ Athleticism- good speed, quickness, and really loose hips
+ Strength- I’m not sure if I have ever seen so much strength from a linebacker as small as he is
+ Instincts- reacts quickly and takes great angles in pursuit
+ Underrated pass rush potential- rarely asked to rush the quarterback, but looks like Clay Matthews when he does blitz
+ Plays with ideal on field intensity

Negatives:

– Crazy small (224lbs outside linebacker) — currently at a playing weight of 237 lbs.
– Short arms can make tackling and deflecting passes a problem at times

Manning was active in five games for Green Bay in 2012,  recording two solo tackles and one missed tackle. He was limited entirely to special teams duty. A history of knee problems and colitis (inflammation of the large intestine) have further prevented his early career impact. However, a team with two Manning’s would likely be an unstoppable force.
