Two weeks ago we wrote a Know Your Giants piece on Damontre Moore, which highlighted his strengths/weaknesses at defensive end during his rookie campaign. We also noted his soaring work ethic in offseason part deux — his ultimate meal ticket to NFL stardom. With Mathias Kiwanuka potentially receiving a heavier workload at linebacker in the absence of Jon Beason, “DaMonster” will be given every opportunity from July to September to earn robust snap count in 2014. Using Moore’s quotes to the New York Post as our guide, he has absolutely no intention of letting this chance slip, nor wasting an ounce of his talent:

"“Yes, sir, there’s opportunity every day you go out there. It’s just about: Are you gonna take it? Now that the opportunity’s presented itself and it’s a big opportunity, I’m just ready to take it and just run with it.”“I welcome any challenge. As a true competitor, I feel like you should welcome any challenge and step up to the plate. When it’s time for me to step up to the plate, I feel like I always rise to the occasion.”"

Following a minor shoulder procedure earlier in the offseason, Moore created a goal back in February to add 15 pounds of muscle to his frame. That benchmark weight is still a work in progress, but he expects his core strength to be substantially improved:

"“I lost a lot of fat and toned up my body. If I come in 255, that’s great, but if I come in 260 and still got my speed, that’s even better.”"

With a full year of physical and mental maturity under his belt, Moore has developed an appreciation for the art of sacking the quarterback. Technique, conditioning and preparation are vital for finishing the rush… converting bull rush hurries into hits, and hits into drive crushing sacks:

"“… I did what I needed to do in college, and I’ve gotten bigger, better, faster, stronger and smarter, and so I’m just really ready to go out there and just show all the teams that passed me up what they missed out on.”"

Is Giants Nation ready to see @tmoore94 terrorize opposing signal callers and running backs alike? One thing is for certain — “DaMonster” is absolutely chomping at the bit for football gameday’s:

"“I dream about it. I’m hungrier than ever to get that first sack. That’s what I love to do, so once I get out there, that whole experience is gonna be magical, so I’m just looking forward to it and I can’t wait.”"
