Eli Manning:

The New York Giants QB is known for throwing 927,027 INT’s in 2013. Most fans of Big Blue understand Eli Manning and his “pretty-pass” pick problem.

Unfamiliar?

That’s passes where Eli Manning has plenty of time to set his feet… the throw looks beautiful and it hits the receiver perfect, but ends up an interception anyway.

Only Eli Manning

Consider however, the Giants had 55 potential turnovers last season and that fumbles were also an issue. Example:

Preseason Eli Manning

The New York Giants are 4-0 in the preseason. It sounds great.

But the New York Giants are installing a new offense and there are some concerns. Like Eli putting the ball on the ground like his hand is made of genuine “2004 Kurt Warner” — Fumblitis.

Eli Manning has two weeks to learn how to hold onto the football and throw pretty completions versus perfect INT’s before Monday Night Football against the Detroit Lions on September 8th, 2014.

  • Fumbles are drive killers, even if the Giants recover them and only lose a few yards. The West Coast Offense is about building timing and rhythm as a team. Putting the ball on the ground destroys confidence and gets teammates to feel sorry for themselves.

To be effective in 2014 as a cohesive unit, Eli and company must maintain possession of the ball. Using mistake free ball control offense to drive the field and walk away with points.

Not point fingers about who caused the fumble or throw sideline pity parties with your face muscles. The season starts in two week, but the New York Giants have a lot to work on, starting with ball security.
