What do the New York Giants Need?

Yesterday, the New York Giants needed a win to propel themselves forward in the NFC East divisional race.

Instead, they got blanked: 27-0. It was a brutal loss that took place inside of Lincoln Financial Field. The entire game, Philly beat up on the G-men, they only allowed them 12 first downs. It was a thorough butt-whooping, there’s no getting around that.

But what happened last night, what do the Giants need to improve on?

Besides everything?

Everything was going so well, three straight win, a 5 TD game from Eli, the return of Odell Beckham Jr., and all the fun Giants trash talk towards Philly. Not many people outside of Philadelphia fans expected the New York Football Giants to walk into the game and lay a great big GIANT bird egg. However, that’s exactly what happened.

Even the Giants salsa dancing star Victor Cruz was sadly severely injured. GMEN HQ wrote about it earlier in this piece titled, Latest Development With Victor Cruz Injury. Overall, it was just a terrible day for the Giants.

Tom Coughlin coached a lousy game. Eli Manning threw for 151 yards and got sacked 8 times. Sure, Eli didn’t throw any picks, but that’s a really optimistic way to look at the situation. Andre Williams rushed for 58 yards, Odell Beckham Jr. caught two passes for 28 yards. Let’s just conclude that the stats are abysmal because it was a horrid game that should be lost in the annals of NYG history forever.

Giants Fans, So What Now?

The NY Giants are now 3-3, which all things considered isn’t too bad. After all, the Giants started out 0-2 and just lost 27-0, 3-3 doesn’t seem like a plausible scenario for a team with those stats. But nevertheless, that’s the reality.

  • For Team BLUE, they must move on. They must pull forward without Victor Cruz, who is out for the season. The team can look into preseason star Corey Washington for a possible addition to the receiving core, but that’s a long shot at best.

Mostly this team needs to forget about Philly, and focus on the Dallas Cowboys. A team riding on high after beating the defending Super Bowl champion Seahawks 30-23. It will be no easy challenge for the G-men. The Cowboys have weapons all over the field and confidence from beating the best, the Giants will need to up their game significantly.

And — that’s what they should do. Perry Fewell should reexamine his defense for more aggression, the Giants are playing fast, but they’re not being physical enough at the point of attack. They must eat, sleep, and drink BLITZ at all times before this game. Bottom line: If the Giants fail to hit Tony Romo, they will lose.

    Conclusion

The Giants are back to .500, but that doesn’t appease anyone. This team needs to get back their winning attitude and that’s next to impossible after being manhandled in front of the world by your hated enemy.

Regardless of the difficulty factor, in New York, there is no excuses and the G-Men understand that. They understand the task ahead of them, win or go home. You can be rest assured that even after that dreadful performance, no one on this roster wants to go home.

This weekend, we’ll find out if there’s any fight left in this New York Giants organization.

    What-A-Loss.
