2015 NFL Draft: Eddie Goldman Vs. Malcom Brown

The New York Giants need help on the defensive line. Being the defensive guy here on GMENHQ I am here to tell you all about two of the best defensive tackles in the 2015 NFL Draft, Eddie Goldman and Malcom Brown.

Eddie Goldman is the explosive player from the Florida State Seminoles. The 6-4 336 lbs. defensive tackle has the potential to be a dominant player. He is a very similar player to Timmy Jernigan, the FSU defensive tackle that the Baltimore Ravens drafted last season.

Goldman projects best as a 3 technique in a 4-3 defense but he has the ability to play strong in the 3-4 front as well. Goldman is all about being a disruptive player in the backfield.

In 2014 Goldman had 8 tackles for a loss and 4 sacks. Even when he doesn’t get a number added to his stats, he makes an impact with his relentless motor.

Malcom Brown is a player I like more for a two-gapping 3-4 defense. Brown is 6-2 and weighs 319 lbs. While you would like to see a bigger frame from a 3-4 defensive lineman he can be pretty dominant.

Brown will force double teams with his explosive drive off the line of scrimmage. Brown will bounce the run game outside and will keep blockers off of linebackers. He also has some pass rushing ability.

Both players have a high football IQ and are hard workers on the football field. Eddie Goldman is a better fit for the New York Giants. Because he is best suited for the 4-3 defense, and he has the quickness to ring hells bells in the backfield, Goldman would be a beast for the Giants.
