One of the greatest parts of the football offseason is the position battles that go on at training camp. The New York Giants are going through a transitional period, so there is going to be a lot of changes all over the roster. The Giants are a cutthroat organization so no one is safe. Tom Coughlin can be one heck of a difficult coach and if you get on his bad side, your definitely not starting.
The Giants have issues all over the field. It only makes sense that they are thin at the positions they’re weak in. That means that anyone can step in and take a roster spot or even a starting role. It’s part of the beauty and excitement of training camp. The offensive line, defensive end, the secondary, and tight end are just some positions to name that could have a serious impact on the Giants’ 2015 season.
A huge part of training camp is getting on the head coaches good side and we all know Coughlin is no push over. If you get in Coughlin’s dog house your definitely not going to be on the field. We’ve seen it happen when a player fumbles a ball, something Coughlin does not tolerate. Becoming a Giant isn’t just about having talent, it’s about punctuation, attitude, and respect.
The 2015 Giants have high expectations from everyone. The Giants managed to get a pass in 2014 because Ben McAdoo introduced a new offensive system, but now there is no room for excuses. These training camp battles will play a pivotal role in having a successful 2015.
