NY Giants schedule 2024: game-by-game predictions for upcoming season
It's finally here! After a long wait, the 2024 NFL schedule has arrived for the NY Giants. Now, the countdown to Week 1 continues and the hope is that Brian Daboll and Co. will be able to improve this season and wipe away the bad memories from the 6-11 showing in '23.
There are still loads of questions that need to be answered before Week 1 gets here. Will Daniel Jones or Drew Lock end up starting? We'll find out this summer. For now, we'll assume Jones is QB1 and he'll look to silence his haters. With that said, we've got our game-by-game predictions for you in this piece, as NY will take on the Vikings to open the season on Sept. 8.
Game-by-game predictions for the NY Giants 2024 schedule
Week 1 NY Giants vs. Minnesota Vikings on Sept. 8
To start us off, the Vikings will take on the Vikings at MetLife. J.J. McCarthy will take the field for his first pro game, but something tells us Kayvon Thibodeaux and Brian Burns are going to make things quite tough for him. Jones will get the start and look sharp in this one.
Prediction: Giants 24, Vikings 17
Week 2 NY Giants at Washington Commanders on Sept. 15
As rough as things were for the Giants in 2023, they were able to count on the Commanders to make their life a bit more easier. The Giants took down Washington at MetLife Stadium and FedEx Field. In their first battle of the year, the defense as a whole is going to make life difficult for No. 2 overall pick Jayden Daniels in a Big Blue victory.
Prediction: Giants 21, Commanders 14
Week 3 NY Giants at Cleveland Browns on Sept. 22
We have the Giants at 2-0 to start the year, but unfortunately they're going to run into a veteran Cleveland team in Week 3. Deshaun Watson will be back to 100 percent and he and Amari Cooper are going to play lights out. This will be a rough showing for Jones, which will lead to fans calling for Lock.
Prediction: Browns 28, Giants 14
Week 4 NY Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys on Sept. 26
Giants fans are probably pretty sick and tired of seeing the Cowboys on the schedule. Last season was rough, as Dallas posted another season sweep. Dallas embarrassed NY in Week 1 in 2023 with a 40-0 victory. In their first game of the season, we think more rough news will be on the way for this Thursday Night Football clash.
Prediction: Cowboys 31, Giants 17
Week 5 NY Giants vs. Seattle Seahawks on Oct. 6
This will be a reunion for Lock, but we still think Jones is going to be the QB1 for this team. Danny Dimes is likely still haunted by the pick-six he tossed to Devon Witherspoon at MetLife in primetime in '23. Witherspoon loved every minute of it, but this is a game where Jones will remind people of his toughness. Seattle will be favored in this one, but we don’t care.
Prediction: Giants 24, Seahawks 21
Week 6 NY Giants vs. Cincinnati Bengals on Oct. 13
This will be a Sunday Night Football meeting between the Giants and Bengals - unfortunately, it's going to be a long night for New York. Joe Burrow will be ready for his bounce-back season and Ja'Marr Chase will remind everyone why he's one of the best wideouts in the game for this SNF dance.
Prediction: Bengals 31, Giants 21
Week 7 NY Giants vs. Philadelphia Eagles on Oct. 20
The Saquon Barkley revenge game! Yup, this will be the first time we see Barkley donning a Philly jersey at MetLife and it’s going to make a lot of people sick. Unfortunately, Barkley is going to show the Giants what they’re missing, as he’ll rush for 118 yards and two touchdowns. To make matters worse, Philly will come out on top.
Prediction: Eagles 31, Giants 23
Week 8 NY Giants at Pittsburgh Steelers on Oct. 28
The Steelers made countless headlines when they brought in Russell Wilson this offseason. In this meeting with the Giants, it will come in primetime, as the Monday Night Football cameras will be on the G-Men and Steelers. Wilson will look every bit like an aging quarterback, with the Giants defense helping NY come out on top in a close one.
Prediction: Giants 17, Steelers 14
Week 9 vs. Washington Commanders on Nov. 3
Call it a gut feeling, but the second showdown between Washington and New York is going to be the best one yet for No. 6 overall pick Malik Nabers. Look for Nabers to haul in eight receptions for 135 yards and a touchdown. The Giants will come out on top and go 2-0 against the Commanders for the second consecutive season.
Prediction: Giants 30, Commanders 21
Week 10 at Carolina Panthers on Nov. 10 in Germany
Pack your bags for Munich! The Allianz Arena is going to be rocking for the battle between the Giants and Panthers. The last time New York played overseas, they stunned Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. Carolina was the worst team in the NFL last year and things aren’t going to improve much for them in ‘24. This will be the most dominant win of the campaign for the G-Men.
Prediction: Giants 34, Panthers 13
Week 12 vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Nov. 24
The Giants have a bye in Week 11, so following the date with Carolina in Germany, they'll host the Bucs at MetLife. Remember when Baker Mayfield tossed shade at the G-Men for drafting Jones with the No. 6 overall pick? Jones made Mayfield eat his words two seasons again when he was still with the Panthers. Now, Jones will post yet another win against Mayfield.
Prediction: Giants 27, Bucs 24
Week 13 NY Giants at Dallas Cowboys on Nov. 28
Will the Giants be able to land a haymaker on Dallas? We would have hoped this to be the case, but Dallas against NY on Thanksgiving Day has trouble written all over it. Another season of going 0-2 vs. the Cowboys? It's on the way.
Prediction: Cowboys 21, Giants 14
Week 14 NY Giants vs. New Orleans Saints on Dec. 8
There will be no excuses for the Giants in this one against the Saints. Derek Carr is not the quarterback he used to be and the New Orleans offense shouldn't scare a lot of people. We can only hope by this point of the season the G-Men will be into a groove on offense.
Predictions: Giants 24, Saints 17
Week 15 NY Giants vs. Baltimore Ravens on Dec. 15
The Ravens were one of the best teams in the NFL last season and Lamar Jackson is going to be motivated to get this team to the Super Bowl. Jackson's last trip to MetLife to face the Giants ended in a loss, but that won't be the same case in '24. Jackson will ball out and the Giants will lose by 10.
Prediction: Ravens 30, Giants 20
Week 16 NY Giants at Atlanta Falcons on Dec. 22
This is going to be a tough road test for the young Giants defense. The days of poor quarterback play in Atlanta are over, with Kirk Cousins in town leading their offense. Cousins may not be flashy, but he’s got a cannon, which will be on full display. NY will try and keep things tight, but the Falcons will close things out with a strong fourth quarter.
Prediction: Falcons 28, Giants 17
Week 17 NY Giants vs. Indianapolis Colts on Dec 28-29
This game will either be played on a Saturday or Sunday for the second to last week of the year, but it won't matter. The Colts have a lot of young talent on offense, but they're still a little far away from putting it all together. This will be one of Jones' best days of the year, with two touchdowns through the air and two more on the ground.
Prediction: Giants 35, Colts 24
Week 18 NY Giants at Philadelphia Eagles on Jan. 5
In a late-season battle, the Giants are going to do everything possible to try and prevent going 0-2 against Philly on the year. We wish we were a bit more optimistic, but after Barkley turned up in the first game, this will be the Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown show, with Hurts tossing for three scores and two of them going to Brown.
Prediction: Eagles 28, Giants 23
There you have it - we have the Giants going 9-8 on the year, which would of course be a strong improvement from the 6-11 showing in '23. However, while the Giants will be in the hunt for a Wild Card spot, we think they'll miss out on the postseason for the second consecutive campaign.
