Going into week four, the New York Giants were heavy underdogs against one of the top ranked teams in the AFC, the Buffalo Bills. Rex Ryan has one of the greatest defense minds in the game and he was projected to take advantage of this struggling Giants squad. The Bills’ defensive front was supposed to destroy the poor Giants’ offensive line. However, this is the NFL and nothing ever goes according to plan.

It was the Giants’ defense that dominated this contest. Their top five ranked run defense shut down impressive rookie Karlos Williams, who was also projected to tear up the Giants defense. The Giants’ secondary finally came into its own and exposed Tryod Taylor’s inexperience as a starter. Taylor completed 28 of 42 passes. He threw for 274 yards for one touchdown and one interception.

Eli Manning looked absolutely stellar, throwing three touchdowns for 212 yards and one interception. Manning has executed perfectly despite having to deal with the top ranked Bills’ pass rush.

The Giants’ offense had a lot of help from the Bills’ defense drawing penalty after penalty. The important thing is that the Giants took advantage of every single one. They had a very balanced offense, passing whenever they needed to and running the ball down the throat if the Bill’ defense.

The Giants proved that they are the most complete team in the NFC East with this win. They have a new found attitude, confidence and swagger on the defensive side of the ball. Steve Spagnuolo instilled a new mindset into a defense that running backs broke records against last season.

The Giants have a fairly easy schedule coming up and now is the time to take advantage of it. This Giants’ team has truly risen from the ashes and is now a force to be reckoned with in the NFL.
