New York Giants: Criminals Vandalize Home Of Nikita Whitlock
Robbers broke into and vandalized the home of New York Giants fullback Nikita Whitlock. Read further for the disturbing details of this racially-driven crime.
New York Giants fullback Nikita Whitlock came home to a terrifying scene on Tuesday, December 6. Criminals broke into his home and stole items of value, but what was truly traumatizing was the manner in which they vandalized his home.
According to a report via CBS New York, the individuals responsible for this atrocity drew a swastika on Whitlock’s wall and wrote, “KKK,” the n-word, and, “Go back to Africa.”
Whitlock, who lives in Moonachie, New Jersey, was understandably disturbed by this heinous act. He was forced to cover up the swastika to protect his six-year-old son from having to see such imagery in his own home.
Whitlock took to Instagram to share a sickening image of the swastika and the n-word—with a hard -er—that the robbers left on his walls. The corresponding message with the post read as follows:
"Racism is real and instead of close to home this time they came inside. My family is safe but we are saddened by the hate. Thanks to the Moonachie Police Department for all of your help!"
It’s sickening to think that this is still happening in 2016—or that we ever let it happen at all.
A crime like this strikes a cord with NFL fans for a heartbreaking reason. Not only is this a revolting hate crime, but it comes mere days after the anniversary of the death of former Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor.
For those unfamiliar, Taylor died in 2007 after burglars broke into his home and shot him in the leg.
Thankfully, Whitlock and his family were able to avoid the potential for violence with the burglars who broke into their home. Unfortunately, he was the victim of a crime that was the product of his merely being a non-white person in America.
This was an act of hate and depravity.
