1 winner (and 3 losers) from Giants' primetime embarrassment vs Patriots

This team is a joke.

There are bad losses. And then there’s whatever happened in Week 13’s Monday night game against the New England Patriots. The final score read 33-15, yet somehow losing by 18 still made the game feel closer than it ever was. They have now lost every road game this season and have extended their current losing streak to seven.

Not many people thought the G-Men stood a chance going into the game, but you could make the argument that they’d at least put up a fight. Laughs out loud. Rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart was back under center after missing the previous two games due to a concussion, but that mattered little. A primetime matchup turned into a televised disaster of epic proportions faster than the 22-year-old took another unnecessarily massive hit.

The game was all but over after the first quarter, in a brutal reminder that this team is just nowhere remotely close to competing. Finding new ways to look outclassed and outmatched is this team’s bread and butter. No team does that better than Big Blue. Here are the winners and losers from another masterclass in doing nothing right.

1 winner (and 3 losers) from Giants’ Week 13 all-around disasterclass vs Patriots

Winner No. 1: Giants' draft position

After falling to 2-11, the Giants do have one (not-so) positive, depending on how you look at it: They still hold the second overall pick in the 2026 Draft. The only team drafting ahead of them is the Tennessee Titans.

A special shoutout to the G-Men on another historically terrible year. Maybe they’ll have a new general manager who’s actually capable of doing something right with the pick by then.

Loser No. 1: Abdul Carter

What in the world is going on with rookie linebacker Abdul Carter? For the second time in three games, the 21-year-old was disciplined for conduct detrimental to the team. The first time, he sat out the first drive. In Monday night’s loss, he was benched for the entire first quarter.

The former Penn State superstar showed up late to a meeting, and interim head coach Mike Kafka made a “coach’s decision” to punish him for this continuous, nonsensical behavior. The rookie needs to grow up and grow up fast. He finally got his first full career sack, which should be a moment to celebrate. Instead, we’re talking about 2025’s third-overall pick who can’t be bothered enough to make meetings on time or not sleep through them.

Give me a break.

Loser No. 2: The entire coaching staff

The embarrassing loss in Foxborough confirmed that Kafka is not long for the head coaching gig. He looked lost throughout the night and had no answers for really anything Mike Vrabel threw at him. Special teams were a disaster. The defense looked just as bad under Charlie Bullen as it did under Shane Bowen. Aside from a trick play, the offense looked like a joke all night with terrible play-calling.

It’s safe to say this entire group will be gone by the time January rolls around.

Loser No. 3: Joe Schoen's future

How long are Giants fans expected to buy into this team only for it to completely implode year in and year out? The roster just isn’t good enough. The decision-making just isn’t good enough. The coaching staff just isn’t good enough. General manager Joe Schoen just isn’t good enough.

Ownership has to look at this loss and come to the realization that Schoen has to go. NY is 3-22 in its last 25 games with him as GM, 5-25 in its last 30, and has been the first team eliminated from the playoffs in each of the past two years. Enough is enough.
