After a promising 10-6 start to the picks in Week 1, it has been downhill the past two weeks with a 14-17 record. So, this week instead of just posting the games I thought I would give a sentence of analysis as I type them, that way I can justify them and make sure I am not choosing anything stupidly.
Denver Broncos -10 @ Kansas City Chiefs
Well let’s see, the Broncos have the best offense in the NFL right now and the Chiefs have the worst. Not to mention the Chiefs LOST to the Raiders, and the Broncos absolutely EMBARRASSED the Raiders. Blow out in KC.
Cincinnati Bengals -3.5 @ Cleveland Browns
Everyone is waiting for the Browns and Bengals to come around. Well the Bengals almost beat the Giants on the road, so I am going to say they are closer to coming around.
Houston Texans @ Jacksonville Jaguars -7
The Jags went to Indy and beat the Colts with seconds remaining. I have a hard time they are going to return home on a high note with all that momentum and play a close game with the Texans. The Jags are about to get into their groove and it continues against Houston.
Arizona Cardinals @ New York Jets -1.5
The Cardinals are good…for the NFC West. But let’s be honest, when they go outside of their division it isn’t going to be pretty. Let’s pretend the Jets have a better coaching staff than they showed on Monday Night and therefore Gang Green should return home to a win.
San Francisco 49ers @ New Orleans Saints -5.5
I’m not sold on the Saints, but I am definitely not sold on the 49ers. The Saints have a lot more offensive weapons than San Fran and they are the better team. At home, win by a touchdown? No problem.
Atlanta Falcons @ Carolina Panthers -6.5
I think this one looks pretty easy, but I could be wrong.
Minnesota Vikings @ Tennessee Titans -3
The Vikings got their first win last week in a desperate spot, but they aren’t about to hand the Titans their first loss.
Green Bay Packers +1 @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tampa Bay has the ability for the big play and Green Bay is still pretty good even with that new guy taking snaps. Have to say I like the Pack in this one.
Buffalo Bills @ St. Louis Rams +8
Tough line here. Yes, the Bills are 3-0 and the Rams have the worst defense in the league, but there is something just not right. I mean the Bills just squeaked by the Raiders and the Rams are changing QBs and still have some big time play makers. I am not saying the Rams are going to win. But they will keep it close.
San Diego Chargers -7.5 @ Oakland Raiders
I feel like this line is almost a joke. The Chargers almost scored triple digits on the Jets and the Raiders, well they’re the Raiders. Now that San Diego is in the win column, they are going to get to work. And their first job is to pound the Raiders.
Washington Redskins +11 @ Dallas Cowboys
I know the Redskins aren’t anything to ride home about and Dallas is home. This is a rivalry game and a divisional game and I am torn between taking or giving the points. Hmmmmm…let’s say the Cowboys win, but keep it close.
Philadelphia Eagles -3 @ Chicago Bears
I think people believe the Bears are good because they beat a rusty and injured and Colts team in Week 1. Don’t be fooled. The Bears have since lost two straight and there is no way they can handle a team from the NFC East. Now this could all change if Philly is slowed by injuries. But let’s say they won’t be and let’s say the Bears get beat.
Baltimore Ravens +5 @ Pittsburgh SteelersHere is one thing people need to know. The Steelers aren’t that good. Sure you might find them near the top of every Power Ranking known to man, but when put against a good defense they can’t score, it’s that simple. And Baltimore has one of the best defenses in the game.
