Join All Stars Helping Kids For His Philanthropic Efforts
NEW YORK, November 14, 2008 – Pro Football Hall of Famer and All
Stars Helping Kids Founder Ronnie Lott today announced that he will
host the second annual Sports, Business and Philanthropy Luncheon on
Tuesday, December 9 at The Sports Museum of America, beginning at
12:30 p.m. At the event, former New York Giants star defensive
lineman George Martin will receive the Bill Walsh Champion of Change
Award for his many charitable endeavors and All Stars will announce a
new partnership with current Giants star Justin Tuck to highlight his
upcoming philanthropic efforts with disadvantaged children.
“All Stars Helping Kids has been making a difference on the West
Coast for almost 20 years now and we’re proud to come back to New
York for year two and take our message to a much larger national
audience,” Lott said. “This year we honor a man who embodies all
that the legendary Bill Walsh was about. In George Martin we see
honesty, fair play, innovation, duty to community and hard work…and
we are also pleased to salute Justin Tuck, a young athlete who is
carrying those same values both on and off the field. Justin is
already a champion on the field, and his work with kids is creating a
legacy that will last well beyond his playing days. It is a privilege
and an honor to stand with both of them on December 9.”
Following the luncheon, All Stars will host a panel discussion
entitled “Creative Philanthropy in a Struggling Economy”. The
panel will feature representatives from a cross-section of industries
who will discuss the importance of “giving-back” during these
difficult economic times and how they can pool their resources to
improve the learning environment for children in low-income
communities. For more information, visit www.allstarshelpingkids.org.
