Overview:
Britts a local product who really excelled his sophmore & junior year at Rutgers. He’s a big target at six foot four inches, and has adequate speed to go with his height. Uses his height to his advantage and beats the press with his long strides. He’s a tough physical receiver that will go over the middle without hesitation. An excellent run blocker with his long arms and impressive upper body strength. Britt is a hard worker who wants to be at the top of his game.
Strengths: Tall / Strong / Physical Player, Hard Worker, Run Blocking
Weaknesses: Doesn’t do much after the catch, Off-field issues
NFL Comparison: Dwayne Bowe (Kansas City Chiefs)
Why it would be a good selection for the Giants: At a minimum it looks like the Giants will not have Burress for at least the first part of the season, so WR is the unquestioned number one need for the Giants. Britt brings the team a tall red-zone target they were lacking after they lost Plax. He’s a tough player that will help our run game with his blocking skills (which we also lost when Burress was out) as well as the passing game. Kenny Britt should be a availabe when the Giants Select at 29. He may also still be on the board at pick 45 if they wait until the second round.
