Kenny Phillips out for year
Safety Kenny Phillips will miss the rest of the year with arthritis in his left knee. That sucks. Phillips was having a good year (I know it’s only two games in) and looked like a Pro Bowl-esque d-back.
In light of this, the G-Men picked up safety Aaron Rouse off waivers from the Pack and CC Brown is expected to move into the starting role. Hey, it won’t be the first time a CC is thrust into the starting role for a New York team this season.
Tuck (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game at Tampa Bay and hasn’t practiced all week thanks to that Flozell Adams cheap shot. Kevin Dockery (hamstring), Hixon (knee) and Adam Koets (ankle) are all questionable as well.
Chris Canty (calf), Hakeem Nicks (foot), Aaron Ross (hamstring), Clint Sintim (groin) and Danny Ware (elbow) have all been ruled out for Sunday. Plus, Manningham (shoulder) is questionable.
Thank God the Giants are playing the Bucs this week. I don’t think all these injuries will hinder their performance. However, if it was a division game I would be worried. Tampa Bay looked like crap the first two weeks, so expect another G-Men triumph.
