A Giant Tuesday as OTA(s) Begin

Good morning on what is shaping up to be a Giant Tuesday!

OTA(s) start today, Osi will be present, and the Giants should have full attendance which will bring Tom Coughlin’s face down from a full red boil to a nice controllable simmer.  New defensive coordinator has already proved to be more vocal than his predecessor, Bill Sheridan; we can expect more of Perry’s fire during this week’s OTA(s).  Media access will be restricted until Friday, but we will try to keep you posted with any news and info that may leak out beforehand.

Second Year Player(s) We HOPE Step Up:

1. William Beatty: The Giants starting five on the offensive line may remain the same, but much of that depends on William Beatty’s growth from year one, a stronger and more physical Beatty could start a domino effect on the line, affecting McKenzie, Diehl, and Seubert.

2. Clint Sintim: Strong-side linebacker spot is Sintim’s to lose, in short stints, Sintim showed pretty adept against the run and the ability to get to the quarterback.  Lots of people are high on Sintim and expecting a breakout year, if Sintim delivers, the Giants defense will get a welcome boost from the strong side after having lingered for year with marginal starters (apologies to Danny Clark, but it is true).

3. Ramses Barden/Travis Beckum: Barden, the huge project wideout from Cal Poly never really saw the field and didn’t even dress on most game days.  Is Barden ready to do what we have all been hoping, i.e., push Sinorice Moss off the roster by showing strong on special teams and developing into a red-zone weapon? What role will Travis Beckum play? Beckum has nice hands, good run after the catch ability, and can play a nice role in certain offensive packages.  It would be nice to see Kevin Gilrbide bring Beckum into the fold.

Stay Blue!
