CC Brown Forgets He Was Terrible Last Season, Blames Media for Inability to Cover Anyone

“And you could say pretty much I’m in a rebuilding stage, trying to rebuild my career and get back to how it was in Houston. So it was a perfect fit for me.” So says former Giant flameout CC Brown to the Detroit News about his new position on his new team, the Detroit Lions.

Few Giants fans would argue that Brown needed a fresh start after being shredded, picked apart, skewered, and burned until he was benched last season following the unfortunate injury to Kenny Phillips. Strangely, Brown doesn’t see it that way. When the struggles are brought up in the same interview, he responds thusly: “Me being the new guy, I was the first guy on the block to be blamed.”

Perhaps Brown is forgetting that he should have been blamed because he played terrible.  But of course it wasn’t his fault, it was all his critics.  “The biggest thing with New York is the media controls the team. So whatever the media says, that’s what’s gonna happen.”

Maybe CC thinks he’s lucky to get away from New York and its supposedly controlling media. But regardless, he’s definitely lucky for one thing:

“We’re not going to judge him on what happened last year,” Lions coach Jim Schwartz said. “We’re going to judge him on what happens this year.”
