USA Today has some updates on the Eagles and Vikings training camps where both Desean Jackson and Percy Harvin suffered injuries during practice. Both players had to be removed from the field with carts. With Cowboy Dez Bryant’s high ankle sprain suffered Friday, this marks the 3rd injury to an impact player for the NFC this weekend.
Jackson’s injury is not believed to be serious, and is back related.
Harvin’s injury is still being evaluated and further reported to be minor.
"Pro Bowl receivers DeSean Jackson of the Philadelphia Eagles and Percy Harvin of the Minnesota Vikings both suffered injuries on Saturday that resulted in them leaving their practice fields on a cart.Harvin’s injury is unknown, but the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported he was helped off the field after making a spectacular catch in seven-on-seven drills. Offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell had no news of Harvin’s status when he spoke to reporters.Jackson limped into a cart, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported, with an unspecified injury. The team announced he had a back injury. The Inquirer said Jackson walked off the cart under his own power but with a noticeable limp.Update, 4:59 p.m. ET: ESPN reported that Jackson’s injury is not serious.Update, 5:49 p.m. ET: ESPN reported that Harvin’s injury is considered minor."
If you’re at all superstitious, and if there is indeed something in the air with star receivers having injury trouble this weekend – Hakeem Nicks, Mario Manningham, and Steve Smith better be careful tomorrow at the start of Giants training camp in Albany.
