5:33 pm | CB Corey Webster came off the field during Tuesday’s practice. “Corey just has a little glute (gluteus maximus muscle) that’s bothering him,” coach Tom Coughlin said. |
5:05 pm | P Matt Dodge has impressed coach Tom Coughlin. “Very talented. Very strong leg,” Coughlin said. “His goal will be consistency.” The coach added he would like for Dodge’s shorter kicks to have more hangtime, but he’s thankful the rookie is working with former Giant Jeff Feagles. |
5:02 pm | S Kenny Phillips looks good, but is still slightly limited. “No issues,” said coach Tom Coughlin. “He’s definitely trying to have a sense for what he can and can’t do.” |
5:00 pm | The veterans and coaches have been impressed with how rookie LB Phillip Dillard has handled himself. “He’s combative. He’s competitive,” said coach Tom Coughlin. “In a good way.” |

4:06 pm | Defensive coordinator Perry Fewell continues to utilize his plethora of defensive ends. DE Mathias Kiwanuka and DE Osi Umenyiora have each seen time at linebacker this afternoon. |

3:39 pm | WR Tim Brown and WR Derek Hagan were the stars of a recent passing drill. Both made big gains by blowing past CB Corey Webster and CB Aaron Ross respectively. Increasingly, Brown is showing up more as a returner in special team drills too. |
3:30 pm | After completing a contact drill in full pads, S Kenny Phillips got a round of applause from his fellow safeties. The loudest of which was another former Miami Hurricane — S Antrel Rolle. Phillips has not been favoring his knee in any way. |
3:20 pm | OG Rich Seubert (hand), OG Kevin Boothe (pectoral), WR Steve Smith (groin), WR Sinorice Moss (groin), TE Scott Chandler, TE Kevin Boss (hamstring, ankle) and TE Travis Beckum (hamstring) are not practicing. All defensive players are active. |
12:23 pm | P Matt Dodge is improving his drops by reviewing film with longtime punter Jeff Feagles. “I would hit a bad punt and I wouldn’t really know what to do,” he said. Dodge said Feagles wasn’t always perfect, but even “his ones that aren’t a good hit are still effective.” |
12:07 pm | LB Keith Bulluck is pleased with his knee seven months after surgery. “I’m in no pain,” he said. “Why would I practice with pain?” He went on to say, “It’s scary how good it feels.” Bulluck expects to play as he did before his surgery. |
11:49 am | According to Mike Garafolo of the Star-Ledger, WR Steve Smith (groin) will not practice this afternoon. |
11:33 am | WR Ramses Bard didn’t contribute much last season, but that could change this year. “I’d like to think that I’m very close,” the 6-6 receiver said. “My height definitely gives me certain advantages.” He made several impressive catches Monday. |
