The final score was 31-16… but at times the game was much closer. Eli Manning left action early with a huge gash over his left eye that required 12 stitches and an Xray. He’s been given a clean bill of health though and told reporters he could have gone back in and felt fine.
The offense was slow for the Giants during the first half. The running game was barely adequate. But Brandon Jacobs was able to punch in a 1 yard TD for the first score of the game after Antrel Rolle landed just shy of a pick-6 on the 1 yard line.
Ahmad Bradshaw ripped off a huge 51 yard dump off pass from Manning just before he left the game with the aforementioned injury.
The story of the night though was fan favorite Victor Cruz who came away with 6 catches, 145 yards and 3 touchdowns in a very impressive performance that dwarfs Hakeem Nicks’ stats from last year by a score. (144 yds, 2 TD for Nicks in 2009 debut)
