"Moss, Sorgi, Tracy to IR; Boateng ReleasedThe Giants reduced their roster to 75 players this morning, releasing only one player – WR Nyan Boateng – and placing QB Jim Sorgi, WR Sinorice Moss and LB Adrian Tracy on season-ending IR (is there any other kind?).The final move was transferring OL Kevin Boothe from active PUP to PUP reserve, which means he won’t be eligible to suit up until Week Seven – Oct 25 at Dallas – at the earliest.Sorgi’s move to IR was no shock. The free-agent QB was in a quandary on whether he’d make the roster or be released. The Giants decided to keep Sorgi around to try again next year. The Giants will endure another season of nothingness from Moss (who had surgery yesterday to repair a sports hernia), who is like a bad penny that you can’t get rid of. He will be back again next year, so reserve your comments for then.Tracy had impressed, but really had no spot on the roster. His move to IR is similar to a redshirt year in college. His elbow was worse off than first thought. He had ligament damage that required surgery. The next mandatory roster moves will come Saturday, when the Giants must make decisions on 22 more players."
