Titans Not Acquiring Haynesworth From Redskins

There had been talks of Albert Haynesworth getting traded back to the Tennessee Titans from the Washington Redskins over the past few weeks, but the latest reports from D.C. media have squashed those rumors once and for all.

Via the Washington Post:

"Defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth is still with the Redskins, and it seems he will be for the remainder of the season unless another team offers Coach Mike Shanahan exactly what he wants for the two-time Pro Bowler.A longtime NFL executive who has dealt with Shanahan said the Redskins’ football boss holds firm in trade discussions. When Shanahan sets a trade price, he doesn’t lower the price simply to make a deal. The Tennessee Titans would gladly welcome back Haynesworth, according to multiple people familiar with the situation. But it is believed that Titans Coach Jeff Fisher, who is said to be friendly with Shanahan, has only offered the Redskins a fourth-round draft pick.…Defensive coordinator Jim Haslett has been publicly supportive of Haynesworth. This week at Redskins Park, Haslett told reporters he hoped Haynesworth, who was inactive against the Houston Texans because of an ankle injury, would play Sunday against St. Louis, and help the Redskins for the remainder of the season in whatever role he settles into in the defense."

So this is a WIN, WIN for the Giants in my book.  Not only will they not be playing Haynesworth as a starter with the Titans tomorrow afternoon, they won’t be playing Haynesworth as a starter with the Redskins either.
