My Amazing In-Flight Movie

A quick personal aside – I happen to be out in San Diego this week for a web conference for work, An Event Apart.  I’ve been several times before and it’s always a good time, very informative, etc.

Anywhoo0 — I was on the flight out from Atlanta yesterday afternoon when the in-flight screen kicks on with live satellite TV.  What awaited me I couldn’t be more thrilled about.  So I tune in to ESPN to see how the Cowboys fared against the Jaguars, and was quite pleasantly surprised… over, and over, and over again. Have you ever laughed at the same highlight clip 20 times in a row?  I have…

I probably saw Marion Barber get stuffed on the goal line 20 or more times over the course of my 5 hour flight. Wade Phillips’ comments after the game and Jerry Jones’ mug in his post-slaughter interview could not have made my flight more pleasant.   I thought about the Giants front office and felt so fortunate that even in the face of disparagement from the media including former players — Giants coaches are trying to get the best out of their players without excuse. Right now it’s paying off big time.

And you know what Jerry Jones?  The fans DO deserve better in Dallas, after your hype machine set up expectations for a team that no one could possible live up to.  But as I looked out over greater Texas yesterday afternoon from high above America, I couldn’t help but think about one very happy audience member watching America’s team get shoved to the back of the line once and for all… yours truly.

Thanks for the entertainment yesterday Big D, it won’t soon be forgotten.
