It’s rare that I root for a team thats not the NY Giants. But tonight I could not help myself. After squandering a 17 point lead, the Saints eventually prevailed in a nail biter. The Cowboys were allowed back in the game with some costly turnovers from the Saints. Dallas battled back, took the lead in the fourth quarter with minutes to play. But Drew Brees put 3 crisp passes together and drove the length of the field in a minute to get back on top with less than 2 minutes to play. Quite a finish to the game, quite a finish to the Cowboys win streak as well. Quite a finish to their season while we are at it.
Now the Cowboys fall to 3-8, at best they can go .500 for the season. As we all have witnessed, the NFL is about getting hot in the right times. With players on the mend, they will need a big win this week to get some momentum going as they welcome back starters to their WR and OL units.
So the Cowboys got hot at the wrong time and flopped, hard. If the Giants get hot by contrast they can go 12-4, and are still in a le gitimate run for the playoffs right now.
Of course they host the Jaguars this Sunday at home. Both teams are 6-4 and have something to prove. It may end up being a grind out win with lots of running for both teams, the Meadowlands is still windy especially this point in the season.
In any case, Happy Thanksgiving everyone and thanks Dallas for the wonderful memories.
