Mike Shanahan not sure who will start at RB

"“We’ll get a better feel for that on Wednesday,” Shanahan said about the unsettled situation at running back. “Until they actually go full-speed, it’s too early to tell” whether Torain can be ready. With first-string tailback Clinton Portis out for the year and Torain sidelined for a third consecutive game, the Redskins gained just 29 yards on 13 rushing attempts in their 17-13 loss to the Minnesota Vikings Sunday. That total is tied for the team’s second-worst since 1994."
Ryan Torain has unquestionably been the biggest breath of fresh air for the Redskins all season. He reminds me of Brandon Jacobs mixed with Derrick Ward, big and powerful but nimble and pretty quick at times. The Giants better be ready for worst case scenario – er Torain – in the event he makes it to the Meadowlands on Sunday.
There’s more after the jump.

"For all of Manning’s faults (16 interceptions) and his many detractors (How many experts won’t even put him in the NFL’s Top 10?), one thing should be clear to everyone by now: He consistently finds a way to win. He is heading into his 99th regular-season start on Sunday with a record of 57-41."

"Given the psyche of this Giants team, a grind-out win against a surging team like the Jaguars should do much more to boost the confidence of this battered team as they head into a tough stretch of games to end the season. Seattle has talent of course, but they are underachievers, and putting up 41 points against such a team did very little to help the Giants in the long run. Just look at the two losses that followed."
Redskins @ Giants Matchup Preview

"The Redskins don’t run the ball well – they managed only 29 rushing yards last week against the Vikings – and don’t stop the run very well, allowing 132 rushing yards per game. If those two areas don’t get better on Sunday it could be a long afternoon in New Jersey. All the injuries on offense prompted coordinator Kevin Gilbride to simplify the game plan and it worked well against the Jaguars, mainly because the Giants for the first time all season did not commit any turnovers. Eli Manning, operating without his two starting receivers, was more careful with the ball and he was rewarded with loads of yards after the catch. The Giants treated last week’s victory over the Jaguars as a must-win and they understand they have little margin for error down the stretch and can’t be losing games at home to sub-.500 teams. Giants 27, Redskins 13."
