According to PFT – the Giants RB Ahmad Bradshaw could be a nice option for the Washington Redskins in 2011.

My take on this is quite simple — the Giants need to retain Bradshaw’s services. The only reason the Redskins want Bradshaw is because Portis is done and they don’t want the Giants to re-sign him and keep the punishment coming down in D.C. It seems like a decade since the Skins bested the Giants, and one of the reason why the Gmen have so much success against their Burgandy and Gold plated rival is that the Giants running game has been too much to handle around the beltway. Even though Ryan Torain looked fantastic last year, the Redskins will want somebody else to serve as that 3rd down back to mix things up… but that guy is not going to be Ahmad Bradshaw. To use Bradshaw as that utility back so soon in his career would be a mistake, he’s an every down back that can block and slip into space to catch the football at any time in the game and break things wide open. Of practically any player the Giants need to utilize more on offense, it’s Bradshaw out of the backfield on those quick short passes if nothing else is available downfield. Eli simply needs to make his read a lot quicker, and get the ball out to AB44 who needs to be waiting in the wings — particularly if the Giants TE’s are going to be left in to block more than any others in the league. That safety valve needn’t always be Steve Smith — and coming off a major surgery the Giants are going to want to balance out the attack as best they can.

They Redskins may think they want Bradshaw, the Giants need him. Time to get the checkbook out and get this deal done.
