Video: 5 Plays To Remember From Giants / Redskins
By author
NY Giants fans are not in a good space right now, understandibly. But the Giants are only 0-1 right now, tied for the bottom of the NFC East with the Cowboys. It’s important to remember that it’s not the end of the world, and there’s plenty of season left.
Along with the bad, there was a bit of good from the Giants this past weekend – here are a couple of my favorite plays.
1. Eli Manning steps up in the pocket and finds Hakeem Nicks for a 68-yard catch and run.
Coming off a slant-and-go pattern, Hakeem Nicks gets behind the defense while the Giants offensive line gave Eli just enough time to step up and throw a great pass over the top to Nicks who takes it to the 1 yard line. Plenty more of this kind of execution will come not only from Nicks, but Manningham, Hixon, and possibly Cruz as well. If Nicks does not play Monday night due to his knee injury (he sat out of practice today, gulp) then the Giants still have a couple of deep threats still on the roster to pull these kinds of plays off if you want to take the optimistic stance.
