I love the designed rollout, love the play fake, love the realization that nothing else was there, love the scramble to the end zone. After the Giants won the Superbowl in 2007, this was the same play that gave them the first TD of the year in 2008 for the Giants. The 2008 Giants went on to win that game, the 2011 Giants did not. The Giants started strong in 2008, 2009, and 2010 — but finished with a collapse each year. That’s what is immediately different this year, the Giants are off to a slow start but have an opportunity to get hot at the right time. Getting back to fundamentals for this team and playing at a high level, limiting turnovers, running the football, minimizing mistakes at every leve — the goals are all still the same. Hopefully the Giants can get all on the same page and finish strong like they did in 2007.
