Eli Manning and JPP Elite Through Week 3

Two of the NY Giants most important players have achieved Top 5 status in their respective positions through Week 3 of the NFL Season… QB Eli Manning and Jason Pierre-Paul

First up, E-Z Eli

Well, he called his shot and as far as his performance goes he’s backing it up. I asked him to show us he was elite, and here he is. Couple that with the trip to Arizona where we all know Eli can chuck it, followed by a banged up Miami secondary — he’s going to really have to blow it to get off this list. If anything, I see him sliding up a couple notches in the coming weeks. That’s all I have to say about that right now.

Onto JPP

Jason Pierre-Paul has been extremely valuable to the Giants without Osi Umenyiora and Justin Tuck to rely on for pass rush. He’s registered sacks for a loss in every game, and shows no sign of slowing down. When he went down with a cramp, did your heart stop like mine did? It’s a good thing it was just a cramp, because if it was another ACL I think I would have lost it. But anyway — JPP has been and will continue to be a key component of the Giants pass rush this year and when Osi and Tuck get on the field to form that NASCAR package, offenses better look the hell out. “QB Killers 2.0” in full effect.
