Giants Re-Sign DT Shaun Rogers

After missing the entire 2012 season to a blood clot in his leg, has been re-signed to a new contract for 1 year at $940,000.  Rogers at 6’4″ and 350 lbs showed a lot in pre-season and practice last season before being placed on IR just prior to the season beginning. Prior to joining the Giants, Rogers played in 156 regular-season games with 128 starts for three teams: Detroit (7 seasons), Cleveland (3) and New Orleans (1). He also played in two postseason games.   The Giants released DT tackle Chris Canty yesterday and will need to have a healthy Rogers, a healthy Marcus Kuhn, along with Linval Joseph.  Rocky Bernard and Marvin Austin will need to convince the coaching staff that they can contribute.
