The Art of Success: Marcie’s Game

I spend a lot of time writing about the type of attitude it takes to win against all odds.  Nobody thinks it’s possible for the NY Giants this season.  They have lost 4 in a row.  One of the top 2 most important attributes of a winning team or just winning is attitude.  Confidence.  As a part of a team, it’s the belief in oneself and in one another, and to go to the mat to help the next guy be successful.  It’s easy to say you think you can win.  But do you REALLY BELIEVE in your heart of hearts?  Sometimes, especially in the face of adversity, you have to dig really deep to find that pure ability to really BELIEVE!

I didn’t have to go too far to find the answer to this question:

"How do you define what that winning type of attitude looks like?"

I have a friend who went to high school with my husband.  You never really think a friend that’s your same age is going to announce to the world that they have been diagnosed with the C-word. But our friend did about 3 weeks ago and she immediately started chemotherapy.

Let me tell you this woman’s attitude is relentless!  It is standing firm that she is going to kick the butt of this damn disease AND shoot it square in the face!  There is absolutely no stopping her from minute NOW until the day they tell her she wiped it all out!  She marched into the hair salon, cut her hair shorter (she looks fabulous by the way), and took full charge!  Her energy and passion and relentless commitment to busting cancer’s chops is ridiculously inspirational.

You know that feeling you get when come hell or high water you are going to make something happen that wouldn’t have happened otherwise – and that is that!  You believe passionately in making something happen, that irrespective of how hard it is, you make it happen?

THIS, my friends, is how you get results!  Whether it is football, a job, or anything in life.  If it’s that important to you, go get it!  Play 60 (and overtime if that’s how long it takes)!  Play 100% and give it your heart, your soul and everything you got!  Make it happen if it’s that important.  Be like Marcie!  BELIEVE!

And by the way, lets put this in perspective… there are a few things more important that football.

Thank you Marcie for your amazing attitude, and for the gifts you give to everyone who gets to know you!  YOU, my friend are what a winning attitude looks like!

ALL IN!
