Each week during the season I will run a full simulation of the Giants game. All Madden, 15 minute quarters, injuries and depth charts up to date to the best of my ability. So with that said, here’s the Madden 25 Week 7 Recap:
Giants Blow 4th Quarter Lead, Lose 27-22
An interception at the end of the 3rd quarter by Jared Allen proved to be one of the most important plays of the day.
With 1:05 left in the 3rd, the Giants were on the Minnesota 38, Eli Manning did not see Jared Allen bail out into coverage and threw it right into his stomach.
The ensuing Vikings posession, Minnesota drove down to the Giants 5 yard line. On 4th and 5, the Vikings went for it and Christian Ponder found Jerome Simpson for the score. The two point conversion failed, however the momentum had swung for good.
Eli finished 27 for 48 304, 2 TDs and that one interception.
It was Brandon Myers’ breakout game. He had 8 receptions for 82 and 1.
The rest of the receiving corps broke down like this:
- Cruz 5 for 79 and 1
- Randle 4 for 57
- Nicks 2 for 29
After his big game against the Bears, Brandon Jacobs ran 13 times for 85 yards. Also had 5 receptions for 41. Failed to reach the endzone.
For the Vikings, their Josh Freeman experiment lasted 1 quarter before Jon Beason broke his collar bone with 8:32 left in the 2nd (out 9 weeks.)
Christian Ponder came in and did what he had to do, throwing 9-14 for 172 and 2 TDs.
For the Vikings wide receivers, it was the big plays;
- Jarius Wright 3 for 77 and 1. (61 yarder 6:25 left making it 27-22)
- Jerome Simpson 2 for 44 and 1. (4th and 5 TD from the 5)
Adrian Peterson was out to prove why he is the best in the league. Although he only found the endzone once, he ran for 157 yards on 27 carries.
Toby Gerhart had a rushing TD.
Defense:
Jon Beason led the team once again with 9 solo tackles and a forced fumble
Cullen Jenkins had 2 sacks
JPP, Tuck, and Rivers each got to the QB once.
Justin Pugh had another tough game allowing LE Brian Robison to rack up 3 sacks
Jared Allen 1 sack and an INT in the 3rd
Final drive for Giants:
- Incomplete
- Incomplete
- Cruz for 14
- Incomplete

- Nicks for 14

- Punt
Vikings milked the remaining 4:23 off the clock
- 46 total yards for AP (all plays to him)
Not only are the Giants 0-6 in real life, they are 0-6 in Madden as well. However, I have a good feeling the Giants prove EA Sports wrong this week. Keep this in mind, I am not sure how the Giants will use Hillis so I put him as 3rd RB behind Jacobs and Cox.
