Vikings & Bengals -7.5 — O/U 47.5
I wonder why this point spread isn’t higher… Yes, the Vikings won a shootout with the Eagles last week. And the Bengals were really never in their contest vs. the Steelers. This is the same spread that the Bengals had vs. the Colts a couple weeks ago. The Bengals covered that day and we gave you that easy winner. The question that begs to be asked: are the Vikings as good as the Colts in this situation? The Colts actually had more than pride to play for.
Matt Cassel has played pretty well. He’s been the QB on the field, at game’s conclusion, for every one of the Vikings wins this season. But in week 6 versus Carolina and week 11 at Seattle — both blowout losses — he didn’t look the part of a professional signal caller. I’ll be honest, this line scares me. The spread should be much higher in my opinion.
I’m going to play the Bengals, but I’ll tease this to -1.5 and play under 53.5. I fear a backdoor score that would steal defeat from the jaws of victory. 21-16 is my best guess.
Good luck vs. your man, and Merry Christmas!
