49ers @ Packers 2.5 — O/U 46.5

Wow, how the fortunes have turned for the Packers in a week’s time! Aaron Rodgers is back at the helm and has the Packer faithful feeling all kinds of cozy. They play perhaps the hottest team in the league in the 49ers this Sunday. The 49ers team has had winning streaks of five and six games this year. That’s hard to do in any season.

The Packers defense doesn’t frighten anyone these days. What does is the prospect of facing Aaron Rodgers in Lambeau, however, where the temperature will be at zero or below.

The Packers have struggled all season in the red zone. If those struggles continue vs. the 49ers, this game will be impossible for Green Bay to win. Rodgers looked a bit rusty last week, but shook it off to hit the winning pass to Cobb wide open in the end zone on 4th and 8. Of course the 49er defense is far superior to that of the Bears.

The other QB is where I say the game will be won or lost. Seven game win streaks are hard to come by in this age of parity. Colin Kaepernick will test his mettle in a hostile environment and icy conditions. This year his path to the Super Bowl is paved with road tilts. I think they may be looking past the Packers in this spot and that will hurt them… The 49ers peaked too early this year. Turnovers by Kaepernick will decide this game. The Packers cover -2.5.

Good Luck in the this year’s Playoffs and vs. your man, Kokomo Dan
