NFL Mock Draft 2014 2.0: Round 1
Nov 9, 2013; College Station, TX, USA; Texas A
10. Detroit Lions
Mike Evans
WR, Texas A&M
James’ Take: Calvin Johnson rarely gets injured, but when he did last year, the world took notice that the Lions had real trouble moving the ball. Nate Burleson, Ryan Broyles and the rest of the WR corps were unable to make an impact and that’s exactly why they go big or go home on this pick. Evans is huge. 6’5, 231lbs. Even Richard Sherman would have a tough time guarding that size, and having two potential #1 receivers in Johnson and Evans makes Matthew Stafford supremely dangerous. Opposing defenses will have to sacrifice coverage in order to guard against the deep ball.
