3. Jacksonville Jaguars
Jadeveon Clowney
DE, South Carolina
Adam’s Take: Standing at 6’6 274, Clowney burned through the 40-yard dash in 4.53 seconds. Keep in mind, the five-year average WR time was 4.54. He followed up that effort in true Clowney fashion – skipping combine on-field drills for linemen. The uncommon raw athleticism, quickness and explosive burst are apparent, but they are counteracted (to some degree) by character, work ethic and desire concerns. The Jaguars ranked 31st in the league with 31 sacks in 2013, and are in desperate need of a game changer off the edge. Teaming Clowney with rising third-year player Andre Branch, a former Clemson Tiger, would make for a physically gifted duo at DE.
