8. Minnesota Vikings
Derek Carr
QB, Fresno State
Minnesota lands the last of the day one quarterbacks in Derek Carr. Do not be fooled, the Viking organization will not want to start the season with Matt Cassel as the starter. Personally, I have Carr as the number three quarterback on my big board ahead of UCF’s Blake Bortles, so I think the Vikings brass should be happy to land a QB with extensive experience and maturity. He thoroughly everyone at his pro day and the general feelings everyone left with is that Carr raised his draft stock. With first round pick Cordarrelle Patterson waiting to stretch the field with his speed, having the QB with the biggest arm in the draft is a big plus.
