According to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Caplan, the Giants have come to terms with cornerback Zackary Bowman on a one-year deal. General manager Jerry Reese has now signed or re-signed four cornerbacks and two safeties since March 11th.
The 29-year old made seven starts for a beaten and battered Bears secondary in 2013, primarily at RCB. At 6’1 194 pounds he’s a physical brand corner. Bowman was torched in week 17 versus Green Bay — ten completions on 12 targets for 98 yards — but otherwise had a solid year in coverage (70.3 QB Rating against).
Keep in mind, Bowman was waived by Minnesota early in 2012. He was forced into extensive action out of necessity last season, but he’s optimally utilized as a reliable depth piece. The fit in New York’s loaded back line is perfect.
Veteran CB Zack Bowman has agreed to a one-year deal with the Giants, source said. Visiting with the team today.
