Adam’s Take: Matthews to the ATL has been my stance from day one. Unless the Falcons decide to move up to the top-top of the draft, he’s the stabilizing pick. Matthews is a true technician at OT, possessing the intelligence and football savvy of a veteran. Whether he has the strength to dominate down in, down out remains to be seen, but he looked sharp during athletic testing (although overshadowed by Robinson and Lewan). The Falcons offensive line needs competent bodies, as buttressed by 44 sacks of Matt Ryan and 205 QB hurries last season. Low risk selection with ample reward.
