2014 NFL Mock Draft 4.0: Round 1

7 of 14

7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Mike Evans
WR, Texas A&M

Felix’s Take:  New head coach Lovie Smith and his coaching staff have worked with the front office to totally reshape the roster with over 15 free agent acquisitions. The Bucs will want to institute a seamless transition for a passer for their new quarterback Josh McCown, who was a career backup until his breakout season in Chicago last year.. Many will point to Marc Trestman as the reason why McCown thrived, so Tampa will look to ensure he repeats such a performance a with similar foundation. Mike Evans is one of the top wideouts, maybe even the best one, in this class. His athleticism for his size is rare, so pairing him with Vincent Jackson will give McCown a similar tandem to the Chicago receivers, Jeffrey and Marshall.
