2014 NFL Draft: Draft Trade Value Chart

Today is the day that every football fan in the country has been anxiously waiting months for — the 2014 NFL Draft. Now, we’re expecting a flurry of draft day trades this year with teams wanting to nab an elite playmaker or a quarterback that is high on their board.

To help the average fan make sense of why your team just gave up five picks for Jadeveon Clowney (fictitious), here is a handy chart outlining the “worth” of every pick, courtesy of WalterFootball.com. For trades to be fair, the point value has to near the point value for the pick you want to trade up or down for.

"If a team wants to move up from No. 3 to No. 1, it’ll cost them 800 points. That means it’ll have to trade its second- and third-round picks (550 + 255 = 805) to make the move."
