Giants Against the Odds: Season Win Total Set by Vegas

Entering the 2013 NFL season, Las Vegas bookmakers hung a season win total of 9 for the Giants. It was a respectful number to be sure, and the Giants rewarded the faith by lethargically exiting the gates at 0-6. Nevertheless, the over possibility was not officially out of reach until week 13, and Big Blue played out the string to a 7-9 mark.
Despite a myriad of free agent signings this offseason, expectations for 2014 have been tempered somewhat. Pinnacle Sports has released this year’s number at 8, with juice (VIG) on the over. The Eagles top the division at 9, Dallas also sits at 8 (heavy juice on under), and the Redskins are in the basement at 7.5.
Other interesting Giants related futures widely available for wagering at The Greek Sportsbook and elsewhere:
- 2.5/1 to win the NFC East
- 20/1 to win the NFC Championship
- 22/1 to win the Super Bowl
- Odell Beckham Jr. is 10/1 to win Offensive Rookie of the Year
For the sake of full disclosure, no Giants player has taken down the Associated Press Offensive ROTY honor in its 46 year history, dating all the way back to 1967. Lawrence Taylor was awarded the Defensive ROTY in 1981. Jeremy Shockey won the Pepsi NFL ROTY Award in 2002.
