Why are you a NY Football Giants Fan?

At GMEN HQ, this is a question we’re honing in on. Why? Because the answers are fascinating and always GIANT exceptional reads. Each and every fan out there has their own unique journey to their NFL allegiance and we absolutely would love to know your tales from the Jints.

For instance, GIANT fan, 3dsoul27 and his cross country battle to remain grounded in his east coast roots on his way to diehard NY Giants loyalty:

"I was forced to to leave NY when I was 15. I moved to California. I was alone, lost all my friends and most of my family. The kids in High school made of fun of my strong Brooklyn accent. I stayed home a lot and there was not much to do besides watch TV. It was that year (85-86) that I started watching football. Anything to remind me of NY and help me feel some pride of where I was from. That year, the Giants won the Super Bowl. From then until now, I’ve been emotionally attached to the Giants. In 1990, I had a few friends but I still lived in California. Crazed 49er fans were at a fever pitch. Everyone knew I was a Giants fan, and I took so much abuse. I watched the championship game with 3 of my friends, all Niner fans… and the bid for the 3-peat was ended!! I got attacked of course.Chairs and tables and ashtrays and beers were flying everywhere but it was such an amazing feeling. I’ve been a die hard Giants fan for just about 28 years now. The Knicks (ugh) soon followed, and then the Rangers. So there you are. That’s why no matter where I live, I’ll always be a die hard big blue fan!!!"

Stories like this represent humanity’s success, both in poor and rich fashion, while having nothing to do with money or dress. HQ Digress. NFL fandom’s a dream. It’s amazing to read the amount of extreme people put into their favorite team. Never mind the scheme or winning theme. Imagine–28 years of GIANTS action per diem is so much football information for you to scream–to your peers. In the stands, as fans. So many cheers, so many beers, so many interception fears, so many tears, some from loses over the years, some from the joy of Champions ban”nears”.

It’s–Hi Jints fans–hijinks–sometimes you have to stretch a rhyme. I do it all the time–without even a steep thinking climb, automatic, like blindly ending an alarm chime–strike–I’m up, clock. No more squawk. Like, why isn’t the “H” pronounced in “Thyme”? Hello, logic? Knock-Knock. It’s not a crime, to pantomime air guitar, whilst listening to carefree ’90’s jams from Sublime. Simultaneously studying vintage grime YouTube footage of LT owning mofo’s in his prime. NFL fandom? A GMEN HQ pastime.

Emotion and real passion from fans is not only interesting. It helps Big Blue Nation keep spinning. Believe it or not, other fans are out there right now–interested in your GIANT journey–and at GMEN HQ, we definitely want to know:
