It’s the time of the season for… loving NFL Football.

And so here we are, 204 painstaking days since our New York Giants last set foot on the gridiron. At 1:20 PM EST tomorrow afternoon (July 22nd) — at the Quest Diagnostics Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey — the waiting game officially ends. OTA’s and minicamp serve to pass the time and remind us of our approaching deliverer, but their attempts are feeble.

Enter the soulful exuberance only found in the cracking open of a brand new training camp… and with it the 2014 Giants roster will begin the process of shaping itself. With each sprint, with each on-field drill, with each scrimmage — position battles will be at the center of the universe. While it’s not quite the NFL on FOX, it’s still damn special.

FOOTBALL SEASON IS HERE in its purist form. Individual competition.

GMEN HQ is opening up the comments section below to all thoughts, predictions and general emotions surrounding the return of Giants football. Have at it, Giants Nation. Speak your mind in (relatively) clean fashion.

To get you started, the platform for running back debate is now OPEN. After all, David Wilson was cleared today and there has been a lot of talk about Peyton Hillis and his role with the team, to which we offer:

A Chiefs fan’s thoughts on Hillis:

"I fooled myself into believing Jamaal Charles and Peyton Hillis were going to dominate in the same backfield, but it just wasn’t there. Like when you’re playing a video game boss and you just can’t beat them no matter how mad you get, but your friend comes in, picks it up and owns the BOSS in two seconds, like a boss (not Kevin). That’s Peyton Hillis versus a real bruiser like Andre Williams, the Giants hopeful back of the future. The weird thing about Peyton Hillis is that he seems to play with so much passion and rage, it really makes him seem better than the average results he produces — like a maniac driver seems to know what they’re doing, so you just let them go roaring by, middle fingers blazing."
