Sure, it’s the preseason. But the Giants are 1-0 and football is back. People gamble on everything, why not put some cold hard cash on one team’s unheralded athletes playing another squad’s promising depth. We mean really, why not? Humans bet on everything, it’s a past-time, it’s an activity with its own culture and language that outsiders can’t penetrate.

But preseason gambling isn’t a GIANT myth, it’s an actuality. Let’s see if we can make the dollars and cents, make some football sense, for people without gambling sense that tend to lose ALL their cents for betting on things that make zero sense, like preseason money lines. However, you can WIN more CENTS if you gamble using basic gambling SENSE:

Let’s get started, Giants Nation

Lines from The Greek Sportsbook. Picks from @AdamGaneles are in bold:

Redskins -1.5 (-120) versus Patriots | Total: UNDER 38.5

Ravens -2 (-135) versus 49ers | Total: 37

Chiefs -2 (-125) versus Bengals | Total: 37

Seahawks -1.5 (-130) at Broncos | Total: 37.5

Additionally, a preseason betting tip to keep in your back pocket courtesy of Sunshine Sportsbook Reviews:

"Try to understand what a coach is trying to achieve each week of the preseason. Coaches often increase the length of time that their starters play each week. Short passing plays and fundamentals are the standard fare in week 1 for most coaches and that is why you see dramatically smaller Totals in Week 1 around 33-37 point mark for most match ups. Most teams will stick with basic plays and short passes for Week 1 and 2."
