New York Giants regular season football is nearly upon us. With that being the case, the New York Giants and Detroit Lions have released their official injury reports following Saturday’s practice sessions:

DT Caraun Reid | Shoulder | LP | LP | LP | Probable |
Nothing particularly Earth shattering on the New York Giants front. There was no chance rookie WR Odell Beckham Jr. was suiting up for the opener. He hasn’t practiced this week and didn’t participate in a single preseason contest. The Giants aren’t going to simply toss him out there blindly…
Will Odell Beckham practice this week? "I doubt that very much," Coughlin said. "He may be a couple, three weeks away."

For the past week it has become increasingly apparent that MLB Jon Beason expects to play Monday night. He’s been practicing in a limited capacity, but that won’t stop the veteran leader from taking the field in Detroit. He is determined to be out there.
Giants LB Jon Beason listed as probable for Monday night vs Lions. I expect him to start. #NYG

If Brandon Mosley is deemed fit and ready to roll, he should garner the start at RG. If not, free agent acquisition John Jerry will get the nod. Jerry started 16 games last season for Miami so he won’t be awed.
Now the question is who starts at right guard? John Jerry or Brandon Mosley? Coaching staff seemed pleased with Jerry last time out.

On the Lions side — the secondary unit will be without James Ihedigbo, who was brought in to start at SS this offseason. This means either UDFA rookie Jerome Couplin or waiver addition Isa Abdul-Quddus will be forced to defend the backline. If the Giants offensive line gives Eli Manning time to survey, this is a highly exploitable situation for Big Blue’s work-in-progress O.
