Fantasy Sleeper Week Two: Jake Locker
NFL week two is upon us… and as many of us spend this morning mulling over last minute fantasy football roster decisions, I’m going to give you a quarterback sleeper to look at who is probably on your league’s waiver wire — 32% owned in Yahoo formats to be precise.
Ladies and gentlemen, I give to you Tennessee Titans quarterback, and fantasy sleeper, Jake Locker.
Now you may be saying to yourselves, did this guy start his pregame festivities early or something? Maybe I have, but consider this: last week Locker faced a relatively stout Kansas City Chiefs defense that can cause problems for any quarterback (despite shortcomings in the secondary). And Locker performed well, throwing for 266 yards and two touchdowns and led the Titans to a win that many people didn’t see coming. This week, the Titans host the Dallas Cowboys and their awful defense.

Locker and his outside weapons of Justin Hunter, Nate Washington, and Kendall Wright should have an even easier time connecting than last week. The Cowboys defense has potential to be historically bad this season, so almost any quarterback facing them becomes a nice fantasy plug-in option if you’re in a bind and need a one week replacement.
Locker is still available in most leagues and will deliver QB1 production this week. Don’t expect Locker to turn into Aaron Rodgers, but if he keeps this pace he could wind up being a solid QB2 option going forward this season with upside.
