According to Adam Schefter at ESPN in an article titled, Suh likely to leave Lions, likes NY, it’s just that, Ndamukong Suh apparently wants to play in New York:
"Suh has told people in the past that he would love to play in New York, and the idea of it has huge appeal to him, league sources said.If he were to take his talents to New York, either to the Jets or Giants, Suh knows how much it would mean for his brand and his profile, and it is something that if he hits the free-agent market this winter, when his contract is up, he will explore."
At GMEN HQ, we’re not sure why this story is popping up at ESPN on Game Day Sunday. After all, touchdowns are being scored right now. It’s not as if the four letter doesn’t have anything else to discuss.
Why now?
Is it because the Jets are playing the Lions, potentially. But what do you think about that, Giants Nation? Ndamukong Suh the Giant? Put him next to Kiwi and JPP, it’s intriguing.
Common practice is to ignore hyperbole stories such as this, however when Adam Schefter stamps his name on a story, you assume there is some credence.
Funny how it’s only Week 4 and we’re already asking about the offseason, but with a player like Suh coming available, 31 teams will all take notice of his services. Football is a team game, but very few in the NFL effect a Sunday afternoon up front like Ndamukong Suh.
Some fans will want him, some will tell the JETS they can have him, but all will watch the happenings. Overall, what a strange time for Adam Schefter to bring this up.
