Week 4: September 24 – September 30
THU, SEP 25: Game Leaders
- PASSING: Manning 300
- RUSHING: Williams 66
- RECEIVING: Cruz 108
Winners: Eli Manning and his five TD performance. Not just for the gaudy numbers, but with it, the Giants may have finally clicked on offense. For a new west coast offense system, chemistry is everything. Eli being able to adjust to this scheme may make him a an even better overall QB. And then for Giants Nation, everyone wins.
Losers: Kirk Cousins lost, not just on the field, but in the race to be the next back-up that gets a huge contract or blockbuster trade. Losing to the Giants and looking terrible does nothing for a QB looking to be the next answer for any team.
SUN, SEP 28: Game Leaders
- PASSING: Rodgers 302
- RUSHING: Forte 122
- RECEIVING: Bennett 134
Winners: The Packers fan base, finally this team decided it wanted to play some offense. It was looking like it was starting to fall apart for a minute.
Losers: The Bears offensive scheme, Marc Trestman has a lot of big weapons and great philosophy, but the Packers showed they could still disrupt Jay Cutler’s timing and play the ball, taking advantage of Cutler’s ability to make mistakes when it matters.
- PASSING: Fittzpatrick 268
- RUSHING: Spiller 60
- RECEIVING: Williams 84
Winners: The Texans offensive line, they played terrible, but no one will know because they won.
Losers: Texans fan base, not many were at the game. They missed their team hit 3-1.
- PASSING: Luck 393
- RUSHING: Richardson 47
- RECEIVING: Wayne 119
Winners: Reggie Wayne, the ageless wonder showed he remembers the end zone is just 100 yards away from the other end zone. He can find them anywhere.
Losers: Ahmad Bradshaw, no matter how well he plays, Trent Richardson cost a first rounder so in he goes.
- PASSING: Flacco 327
- RUSHING: Forsett 66
- RECEIVING: Smith 139
Winners: Steve Smith, he wanted revenge and he got it. Plus vengeance, and anything else he wanted from the Panthers.
Losers: The Panthers defense, this is supposed to be a great defense. Steve Smith and Joe Flacco made them look terrible. Honorable mention to Cam Newton, the Ravens defense abused Cam like an elevator video. Their O-line might as well not even play.
- PASSING: Stafford 293
- RUSHING: Ivory 84
- RECEIVING: Tate 116
Winners: The Lions fan base, this is a team that has been horrible for years in terms of winning it all, but they get some great players in terms of Barry Sanders and watching Calvin Johnson. Might as well enjoy the wins, especially over the Jets.
Losers: The Jets are losers, this has been confirmed by the world and now, additionally, the Lions.
- PASSING: Roethilisberger: 314
- RUSHING: Bell 63
- RECEIVING: Brown 131
Winners: Bucs fans, after getting embarrassed on TNF, it had to feel somewhat better to defeat the Steelers.
Losers: Antonio Brown, he had a great day and then dropped a deep flea-flicker… would have been a monster day.
- PASSING: Tannehill 278
- RUSHING: Miller 64
- RECEIVING: Jones 83
Winners: Miam’s schedule, everyone wins when the Raiders appear.
Losers: Da Raiders
- PASSING: Rivers 377
- RUSHING: Gerhart 32
- RECEIVING: Allen 135
Winners: The Chargers offense, Rivers is getting it done.
Losers: The city of Jacksonville, they almost had some hope with Blake Bortles, but San Diego quickly woke up and pounded the Jags. The city wants a competitive team, but it doesn’t seem to be possible in this NFL.
- PASSING: Bridgewater 317
- RUSHING: McKinnon 135
- RECEIVING: Wright 132
Winners: Teddy Bridgewater’s injury free potential in the first three quarters.
Losers: Teddy Bridgewater’s ankle in the fourth quarter.
- PASSING: Kaepernick 218
- RUSHING: Gore 119
- RECEIVING: Maclin 68
Winners: Frank Gore, this guy seems to always get it done.
Losers: Nick Foles was lousy; as good as he has looked at times in the past, the 49ers made him look uncomfortable as an NFL QB in general.
Sunday Night Football
- PASSING: Brees 340
- RUSHING: Murray 149
- RECEIVING: Graham 86
Winners: Jason Garrett, he’s been questioned a lot as the Cowboys leader from a job security standpoint, but starting 3-1 is a win for the coach.
Losers: The Saints ball security, Drew Brees went on fire in the second half, only to have the team turn it over 3 times. If the Saints want to beat up the Cowboys, they have to score in the first half and win the turnover battle. Instead, they lost. Even with all the penalties Dallas made, it won’t matter if a team turns the ball over all day. Losers (of the football).
