New York Giants Lose
On paper without reading the score, it doesn’t look as bad. The New York Giants had 22 first down’s, the Indianapolis Colts had 22 first down’s.
The similarities don’t end there, the Colts had an impressive 443 yards, the Giants almost matched them at 438. The Giants had 15 drives, so did the Colts.
The scoreboard doesn’t reflect the redundancies as the Colts beat the G-Men, 40-24.
Understand Giants Nation, this was a MUST-WIN situation for your team. The Giants are now 3-5, with the Cowboys and the Eagles both so far ahead record wise. This was the worst possible scenario for the New York Giants organization and fanbase.
The Viking Age
To add insult to injury, the Giants also had more of the latter, Prince Amukamara left the game with an arm ailment. It has just been a brutal 2014 for a team that won a Super Bowl with Eli Manning twice in the past seven seasons.
Also, former Giants Hakeem Nicks and Ahmad Bradshaw almost combined for 100 yards as that old hurt (and loss) just added to Giants Nation’s sorrow.
Outside of Fantasy Football fans, not many will take note of Odell Beckham Jr. and his 156 yard performance, but the rookie made a big impression within the GIANT implosion.
There are positives to take out of the game, but most fans probably just want to forget it, and this football season ever existed. No need for fluffing the fanbase.
The New York Giants lose, but the NFL journey continues regardless.
